Book by Thomas Meehan Music by Charles Strouse Lyrics by Martin Charnin
Directed by Janice Kraus
Presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI)

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone's favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists, Annie JR. is ideal for production for performers of all grade and experience levels.

About Brea's Youth Theatre

Produced in partnership with Stagelight Family Productions, the City of Brea’s Youth Theatre Program has brought the joy of theatre to children and their families for more than two decades. Through the art and practice of live theatre, children and teens perform as a team with seasoned actors and educators in the community to bring some of Broadway’s most notable musicals to a live audience. Throughout the rehearsal process, children and teens learn the value of teamwork, while building confidence and lasting friendships. Truly an experience for the entire family, each production brings the opportunity for parents to contribute their own talents through a variety of volunteer projects that support the fun onstage. With two annual productions, there's plenty of opportunities for young performers and audiences to participate. Ask about registration for our summer production.
